Spending too much on Electricity?
In this second part of our look at the high costs of electricity, ELSI asks an Expert for advise about how you cut your Business' electric bills...

Efficiency Now!

Looking for ways to cut costs and improve your business' bottom line? Consider the high cost of your company's electric power.

Commercial energy consultant and efficiency expert, Sam Pierce has brought nearly 20 years of energy conservation and mechanical engineering experience to good use. Owner and operator of Pacific Energy Systems, Pierce specializes in demand side energy management.

Sam's work in implementing the concepts of Energy Automation Systems, Inc. (EASI), has enabled businesses throughout the Pacific region to gain access to an innovated world class technology.

(ELSI): Because of the skyrocketing price of electricity, people are hearing more and more about "demand side management". Tell us a little about that please, Sam.

(SAM): Demand side management is just a fancy phrase for energy conservation. Of course the best way to reduce power bills is to reduce unnecessary energy consumption. People are often times surprised to discover how much they are being hurt by using more energy than is needed to get the job done.

(ELSI): How can Pacific Energy Systems reduce my power bills?

(SAM): Our technologies fight electrical inefficiencies in your facility. Even a fairly small commercial or industrial facility can have an enormous number of factors influencing the overall efficiency and cost of electrical operations. Each piece of electrical equipment generates its own contribution to the entire facility's power quality and efficiency.

Instead of taking a piecemeal approach, we evaluate your entire facility at one time, in one proven process that generates the responsible solutions and suggestions you want to have for reducing costs and
improving overall operations.

(ELSI): As a business owner, what kind of savings can I expect?

(SAM): Our system wide approach will save you between 10% and 30% on your electricity bills, and will dramatically lower your cost of maintenance, repair and replacement of fixtures and equipment.

(ELSI): What is included in your services?

(SAM): The project cost includes all the engineering, equipment, installation, labor and post-installation service and warrantees. The equipment we
install is modular, and therefore will never become obsolete. As the business expands, additional equipment can be easily installed to cover new loads. It also means that in the unlikely event of a component failure, only a fractional part of the system will be inoperative for a short time. For all  practical purposes, the savings would be unaffected.

(ELSI): Does energy conservation provide a good rate of return?

(SAM): A well executed energy conservation program is probably the best investment a company can make. First, by carefully selecting the methods and technologies, a business gains a rate of return on investment that is probably much greater than can be earned in the normal business operations. This is new profit that is available immediately.

Second, by "well executed" we mean a program that saves energy costs by increasing overall efficiency without sacrificing either comfort or the way you operate your business and, without committing
further resources.

(ELSI): What type of electrical loads can be treated for savings?

(SAM): The loads which are treated with the EASI system include:

  • All types of lighting including fluorescent and HID
  • Fixed speed motors
  • Variable speed motors
  • Air Conditioning
  • Refrigeration

(ELSI): What distinguishes your approach from all the others?

(SAM): All of our recommended energy cost reduction measures:

  • improve facility power quality and reliability
  • are proven and currently available
  • are passive (no cycling of loads)
  • do not interfere with the operation of your business
  • require no routine maintenance or programming
  • are automatic, with no employee involvement
  • generate a high return on your investment
  • save money while all your loads are running
  • Make equipment run more efficiently and last longer.

(ELSI): How long has the product manufacturer been designing for energy conservation?

(SAM): The EASI staff has been on the cutting edge of the electrical energy efficiency industry since its beginnings in the late 1970's. Every technology recommended is backed by a warranty, performance guarantee, and 20 years of experience including over 70,000 installations.

(ELSI): How much will these energy savings cost my bottom line?

(SAM): Your EASI Industrial Power Program is completely paid for by money otherwise sent straight to your local electric company. And, with our available financing options, you can actually pay for the entire project from this new positive cash flow, as simple monthly payment that is much smaller than the savings realized from your new efficiency system. This results in new cash flow without capital outlay. The savings are
guaranteed.

(ELSI): How will the installation of this energy system affect my operations?

(SAM): This is an all inclusive, "turn-key" project including all design, installation and monitoring. We do not interfere with your production, or demand extensive involvement from your personnel.

(ELSI): What type of products will be used?

Our system will treat virtually all your loads. They include:

The EasiLiner Reactive Power Correction System

A waste-to-energy product that increases the "Octane Rating" of your electricity, resulting in lower electric bills, higher performance and longer life for electric motors. The increased efficiency of power allows the motor to operate more efficiently and draw less current through the distribution lines in your building. The reduced current draw translates to reduced kilowatt line losses (due to resistance in the wires).

(ELSI): We've seem the testimonials. The results certainly speak for themselves.

Advocating for Sustainable Solutions

ELSI MISSION...The human species is endowed with unbounded cleverness. Unfortunately, this cleverness is poorly balanced with wisdom. Nowhere is this imbalance more graphically illustrated than in the contradiction between how we as individuals, nations, and as a global community, go about satisfying our needs and desires, and the negative effect these activities have on our planetary life support system...
